There is a huge need in Blackmore Vale for Home-Start’s unique service. Dorset’s general reputation as a lovely place to live is well deserved but that can be a hindrance to bidding for grants. We do not have high levels of deprivation to attract big grants. Our deprivation is in small pockets which does not show up in national statistics, but the need is still there.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated and to give an example of what our funds are spent on:
- £15 funds a volunteer’s expenses for a month
- £30 funds craft activities for our weekly parent and toddler group
- £100 funds a month of volunteer training

Fundraising Events
You could help Home-Start Blackmore Vale by supporting our fundraising events. There are various ways to help; by attending and donating, by donating your time to help, by donating a contribution be that a cake or good quality prize for a raffle or by organising a fundraising event for us. Your event could be as simple as a tea party and cake sale, to quiz nights to sponsored sporting events.

Corporate Sponsorship
Corporate sponsorship can bring many benefits to a company and even small donations can make a big difference to our scheme. If your company would like to contribute to the work of Home-Start Blackmore Vale we would love to hear from you!
We would also be happy to come and speak to your staff about the role we play and how they could help. In the past, companies have sponsored special events such as our Christmas parties, or our family fun days. An unrestricted donation is always very welcome as we can use this for our core funding requirements.
