About Group Support
Our groups aim to connect families who feel isolated so they can develop their own support and friendship network, increase confidence and enjoy quality family time. Contact us to find out more.
Mothers in Mind
Mothers in Mind is a group offering mums a place to find comfort, advice and support while experiencing anxiety, depression, low mood, OCD, or loneliness around the time of pregnancy or after birth. The group will be a place for sharing thoughts and experiences, taking part in activities or solely enjoying the company of other mums and their children. The aim is to provide reassurance to mothers coping with moderate to severe mental health concerns in a non-judgemental way. We welcome babies and up to preschool aged children to ensure support to our mums, where there will be child-friendly activities.
If you would like more information, please contact the office on 01935 726438 or email us via the Contact us page. Early Family Connections
We run a parent baby/toddler group in Sturminster Newton on Friday morning at The Exchange. Our group provides a safe environment for parents, babies and toddlers to socialise, play and have fun. There are different activities and sensory play while making new friends. It is small and welcoming group run by staff and volunteers. To find out more contact us via our Contact Us page
Walking Group
Home Start also offers support through a weekly walking group. This is open to any Mum or Dad with a child/children under 5 who would like to get out into the fresh air and meet other parents. It is a good chance to get some gentle exercise whilst connecting with others. It is led by a group facilitator and depending on numbers, may include some volunteers as extra pairs of hands to entertain toddlers. We are lucky enough to live in an area with beautiful, buggy -friendly walks. We encourage parents to come along even when it’s raining as we know children love nothing more than splashing in muddy puddles! To find out more send us a message through our Contact Us page.
